1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SNAhelper at app.snahelper.ie ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
SNAhelper is operated by Sebastian Holewa, sole trader, trading as SNAhelper, based in Ireland.
Contact: hello@snahelper.ie
Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. What SNAhelper is
SNAhelper is an AI-powered chat service that provides practical behavioural support guidance for Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) working in Irish educational settings.
SNAhelper is a support tool, not a professional service. The guidance provided is generated by artificial intelligence (OpenAI GPT-4.1 Mini) and is intended to support your professional practice. It is not a substitute for:
- your own professional judgment and training;
- formal advice or direction from your school, principal, or SENCO;
- guidance from the NCSE, NEPS, CAMHS, or other professional services;
- child protection procedures under Children First or your school's safeguarding policy;
- advice from Tusla (the Child and Family Agency) or An Garda Síochána where a child protection concern arises.
You are always responsible for your own professional decisions. SNAhelper does not diagnose children, does not make decisions about any person, and does not replace human professional support.
3. Who can use SNAhelper
The Service is intended for adult professionals working in Irish educational settings, particularly Special Needs Assistants (SNAs).
By using the Service, you confirm that:
- you are at least 18 years of age;
- you are using the Service in a professional capacity;
- you will not allow any child or person under 18 to use your account or access the Service.
We reserve the right to terminate accounts if we have reason to believe these conditions are not met.
4. Your account
To use the Service, you must create an account using Google sign-in or email registration via our authentication provider (Clerk).
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must not share your account with anyone. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@snahelper.ie.
5. Subscription and payment
5.1 Paid subscription required
SNAhelper is a paid subscription service. There is no free tier. You must have an active subscription to use the chat feature.
5.2 Pricing
- Early Access price: €12.99 per month. This price is locked for as long as your subscription remains continuously active. If you cancel and later resubscribe, the Early Access price is no longer available.
- Regular price: €16.99 per month.
- Prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
5.3 Monthly message allowance
Your subscription includes 300 messages per calendar month. When you reach this limit, you will not be able to send further messages until the next calendar month. Unused messages do not carry over.
5.4 Payment processing
All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
5.5 Billing and renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically each month on your billing date. You will be charged the applicable subscription fee at each renewal unless you cancel before the next billing date.
5.6 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal (accessible via "Manage" in the app sidebar). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain access until then. No partial refunds are issued for unused portions of a billing period.
5.7 Refunds
Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at hello@snahelper.ie within 14 days of the charge.
6. Acceptable use — what you must not do
6.1 Protecting children's privacy
This is the most important rule of using SNAhelper.
When using the chat, you must not include any information that could identify a specific child or other individual. This includes:
- children's names or initials;
- school names or class identifiers;
- dates of birth;
- addresses, Eircodes, or PPS numbers;
- any combination of details that would allow a specific child or person to be identified.
Describe situations in general terms only. For example: "A child in my class is having meltdowns during transitions" — not "Jamie in 3rd class in St. Patrick's NS is having meltdowns."
If you include identifying information about a child, you may be breaching data protection law (GDPR) yourself. SNAhelper is designed to work without this information and the quality of guidance will not be affected by keeping descriptions general.
6.2 Other prohibited uses
You must not:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
- attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or manipulate the AI system prompt or underlying system instructions;
- use the Service to generate content that is harmful, abusive, discriminatory, or defamatory;
- share AI-generated responses publicly in a way that misrepresents them as official guidance from the Department of Education, NCSE, or any other authority;
- use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service;
- attempt to circumvent the message quota, rate limiting, or any other usage restrictions;
- create multiple accounts to avoid usage limits;
- resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or its outputs without our written permission.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms.
7. AI-generated content — limitations and disclaimers
7.1 No guarantees of accuracy
SNAhelper's responses are generated by AI. While the system is designed to align with Irish Department of Education and NCSE guidance, and is informed by practising SNA expertise:
- AI-generated guidance may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies;
- responses may not reflect the most recent policy changes or guidelines;
- guidance is general in nature and may not be appropriate for every specific situation;
- the AI does not know the individual child, your school's specific policies, or the full context of any situation.
Always verify important guidance with your school, SENCO, SET, or relevant professional services.
7.2 Not medical, therapeutic, or legal advice
SNAhelper does not provide medical diagnoses, therapeutic interventions, or legal advice. If a child's behaviour suggests a medical, psychological, or legal issue, consult the appropriate qualified professional.
7.3 Safeguarding
SNAhelper includes automated safeguarding keyword detection. If a child protection concern is indicated, the AI will direct you to follow your school's safeguarding procedures, contact your Designated Liaison Person (DLP), and where appropriate, contact Tusla.
SNAhelper does not report safeguarding concerns on your behalf. You remain responsible for following Children First procedures and your school's child safeguarding statement. If you have an immediate concern about a child's safety, contact Tusla or An Garda Síochána directly. Do not rely on SNAhelper for safeguarding decisions.
8. Chat data
Your chat messages and AI responses are stored securely in our EU-hosted database. During the Early Access Period, chats are retained for a maximum of 30 days from the date of each message. Full details of how your data is collected, used, stored, and protected are set out in our Privacy Policy.
You can request deletion of your chat data at any time by contacting hello@snahelper.ie with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".
9. Intellectual property
9.1 Our content
The SNAhelper name, branding, app interface, system prompts, scenario frameworks, and underlying technology are owned by Sebastian Holewa, t/a SNAhelper, or used under licence. You may not copy, modify, or distribute these without our written permission.
9.2 AI-generated responses
You may use AI-generated responses from SNAhelper to support your professional practice, including sharing relevant guidance with colleagues, teachers, or your school team. You may not:
- present AI-generated responses as official guidance from the Department of Education, NCSE, or any other authority;
- commercially redistribute or resell AI-generated responses;
- use AI-generated responses to create a competing product or service.
10. Availability and changes to the Service
We aim to keep SNAhelper available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the Service from time to time. If we make material changes that significantly affect your use of the Service, we will notify you by email or through the app.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law:
- SNAhelper is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied;
- we do not warrant that AI-generated guidance will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose;
- we are not liable for any decisions you make based on AI-generated guidance;
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service;
- our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the total subscription fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by Irish law.
12. Termination
12.1 By you
You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal.
If you wish to close your account entirely and have your data deleted, contact us at hello@snahelper.ie. We will process your request in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12.2 By us
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- you breach these Terms, particularly the acceptable use provisions in Section 6;
- you fail to pay subscription fees;
- we are required to do so by law;
- we discontinue the Service (in which case we will give you reasonable notice).
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or through the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.
The current version of these Terms is always available at https://www.snahelper.ie/tos/.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
If you are a consumer within the European Union, you also have the right to submit a dispute to the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
